April 30, 2008
"This one has been a long time coming," says Wayne Phelan, manager of ISN Wireless. "We've been talking to the folks in Lakeside
for a while on this and had a few set-backs but I hope all the meetings were worth it."
XITTEL and Ruranet Wireless having merged to the newly founded high-speed Internet Service provider on PEI, "ISN Wireless" have just lit up
its tower in Lakeside directly to fiber.
"ISN Wireless" using a new fiber optic backbone is committed to provide all Islanders with high-speed internet within 3 years. "ISN
Wireless" network will be powered by Motorola Canopy product in the 2.4 & 5.8 GHz and 900 MHz bands.
"Our company is committed to deliver high-speed internet into the rural communities of PEI", says Phelan. It is our goal to bring the rural
areas up to speed so to speak, says Wayne. They will have the same benefits of the internet as those who live in the urban areas of the island.
With the changing of how people/business in today's world operate it is a must that they have high-speed to compete, be it on PEI or
Globally."
"ISN Wireless" is please to acknowledge the Government of PEI who understands the importance of getting PEI households connected to
high-speed internet. As per their campaign, getting the island connected is a priority to all government parties of PEI. "Even though ISN
Wireless has not received any subsidies, says Wayne, the government have been behind us 100%. For all the calls made to them the names were passed
onto us to see if we could or when we could bring high-speed into those areas.
"ISN Wireless" will hook up high-speed to those households in the area with a list of 40 or more names first. If anyone in the Lakeside area would
like more information they can contact our office at Pooles Corner, (902) 838-5869.
"ISN Wireless" offers high-speed in parts of the following areas; Cardigan, Georgetown, Lower Montague, Pownal, Orwell, Ernscliff, Flat
River, Belle River, Stratford, Mermaid, Mt. Stewart, Donaugh, Oyster Bridge, Rustico, parts of Brackley , Pleasant Grove, Rocky Ponint, Cumberland,
Lakeside, Dundas and Rollo Bay-Fortune
"We would like to thank those who were involved in helping us get the tower erected in Lakeside, especially the people at Wyman's who allowed
us the use of their land", says Wayne. "Without the community support we would not be able to bring high-speed into your areas. Look
forward to lighting you all up."
